LED lighting unit brings energy savings to High-Bay areasAiming to offer major reductions in energy consumption and maintenance, as well as other benefits over traditional HID luminaires, Cooper Lighting's new LED High-Bay luminaire uses multi-die LED chip array technologyto achieve a low power consumption of just 142W. This is said to translate into energy savings of 65 per cent over a 400W metal-halide luminaire.

Cooper says the LED High-Bay delivers instant white light with no restrike or run-up delay, and provides a long service life free with no need for lamp changes. The unit can function at temperatures down to -30degC, so it is able to be used in cold stores. At the other end of the temperature scale, it can also be used in general high-bay applications in ambient temperatures up to +30degC.

With its IP65-sealed head unit and a remote IP20 gear box, the LED High-Bay allows light output to be adjusted through separate switching or dimming of the LED arrays. Performance can be optimised by a choice of lens and reflector designs to suit racking aisles or open areas. And unlike HID luminaires, LED High-Bay can be specified with an integrated three-hour maintained emergency option.

This compact unit measures 480 x 325 x 100mm and has a die-cast aluminium housing in a white RAL9016 powder-coast paint finish.
