Higher thermal efficiency from compact heat exchangerAlfa Laval has introduced the latest model in its new generation of thermally efficient brazed heat exchanger for HVAC and refrigeration duties.

The new CB30 is a smaller version of the CB60, launched in December last year. Its light weight and more compact design are due to new production techniques, while its higher thermal efficiency is complemented by its ability to accomodate a lower pressure drop which, in turn, reduces power consumption.

In common with other CB models, the CB30 consists of a number of corrugated stainless steel plates stacked on top of each other to form channels for the passage of two liquids, generally in full counter-current flow. End plates complete the plate pack which is then brazed at contact points to form a rugged and gasket-free exchanger offering high levels of thermal efficiency and excellent resistance to pressure and temperature.

Alfa Laval can supply the CB30 in standard format ex-stock, or it can be supplied with different internal plate configurations; enabling it to be tailored precisely to a wide range of heating and cooling applications with no need for over-engineering. And all CB brazed heat exchanger units comply with the European Pressure Vessel Safety Directive, and can also be delivered according to other relevant standards and national codes, as required.
