Suitable for use with any AC industrial drive, the latest Revcon system, manufactured by Elektrotechnische Anlagen and available from CP Automation, returns to the grid the energy produced when a motor slows down. The system is, says CP, far more cost-efficient than using two inverters to achieve the same effect.
Revcon now also features a built-in harmonic filter which ensure that the electricity returned to the network is fit for purpose and G5/4 compliant. This improvement has been made with no increase in size over the original enclosure.
Easily retrofitted to any inverter — regardless of design or manufacturer — due to its independent non-software driven installation protocol, the device uses a feed-in tariff, similar to those used on semi-commercial wind turbines. This allows the owner to charge the electricity supplier for the returned power should the building or factory not use the energy locally.
