Latest subscription product from BSI is designed to help manufacturers comply with the European Directive on energy using products (EuPs).

'Energy-using Products: A Guide to the implementation of European Directive 2005/32/EC' offers practical advice for compliance by providing all the relevant information in one place, says BSI.

Focus of Directive 2005/32/EC is on the product design process, the stage that most influences the resources used across a product’s life cycle. The new BSI guide highlights the potential impact of the Directive on product design and manufacture in the UK.

The EuP Directive Guide is divided into three sections:

Introduction - purpose of Directive 2005/32/EC, how products are assessed and information regarding the implementation of the EuP Directive into UK legislation: Scope of the Directive - how different product groups could be affected, and the main ecodesign requirements for each: Guide to compliance - guidance on monitoring and assessing compliance.

Appendices include relevant European Directives and standards and the text of the EuP Directive and related legislation.
