Solarplaza has announced its third annual one-day conference, taking place on April 18 at the Central Hall, Westminster. Supported by the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA), 'The Solar Future, UK: III' event will feature expert speakers presenting their views and predictions on the future of the UK’s solar PV market.
“In comparison to the UK market, Germany’s solar industry is relatively mature and despite recent cuts to its feed in tariff (FiT), it’s close to reaching grid parity,” said Edwin Koot, Solarplaza's Chief Executive. “At The Solar Future, UK conference, expert speakers from Germany will give insight and perspective on the challenges facing the solar industry in 2012. Hearing the lessons learned from one of Europe’s solar super powers will help delegates decide on the strategic measures needed to develop a sustainable future for solar energy here in the UK.”
Since April 2010, the UK’s solar industry has experienced stellar growth, fuelled by an attractive feed in tariff (FiT) incentive scheme and a fall in world solar module prices, says Solarplaza. Recent changes to the FiT have caused uncertainty within the industry, yet solar as a source of renewable energy remains a popular choice and with 2012 promising stability in terms of pricing and subsidies, the long-term opportunities for the UK market remain positive.
