Following energy saving filter installations at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, Vokes-Air is to handle the replacement of 1500 air filters on 180 air handling units at Manchester Airport.
After a successful three-month trial period, work on the replacement programme, which will involve both the installation of Vokes-Air’s Synsafe Revo pocket filters and carbon filters to remove odour, will begin before the end of the summer. The Vokes-Air products predicted to deliver annual savings of approximately £514K, they will also help Manchester Airport reach its commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2015.
“The Manchester team, which had already commenced a comprehensive energy review at the airport, trialled the Vokes-Air products alongside competitor products and made their decision on the basis of projected performance and energy savings,” said Andrew Sheridan, Manchester Airport’s Services Facilities Manager.
New air filtration arrangement at Manchester Airport involves a single Synsafe Revo pocket filter. This filter can deliver impressive reductions in energy consumption due to its low resistance to airflow combined with the ability to remove the need for a pre-filter stage.
Simon Hughes, Sales Director for Vokes-Air says: “Having successfully installed these products at Heathrow and Gatwick, we’re delighted to be working at Manchester Airport. In every installation we have completed, the Revo has reduced the pressure drop whilst maintaining its efficiency and service life leading to excellent energy and financial performance for our clients.”
