Solar power provider Tenesol, owned by energy giants TOTAL and EDF, has increased from five to ten years the guarantee period on its photovoltaic modules (other than 'dual-glass'). This increase follows significant investment in manufacturing and quality control systems at the company’s production plants in South Africa and France.
In addition, Tenesol currently operates a 25-year performance guarantee. This states that modules will perform at 90 per cent of nominal power for up to ten years and at 80 per cent of nominal power for up to 25 years.
“We want our customers to know the product they are buying has been built in accordance with the highest level of quality and will perform effectively and reliably for decades to come,” says Tenesol general manager Benoit Rolland. “Our experience, combined with the procedures and advanced equipment we use, has given us the confidence to increase our module guarantees two-fold. Quality is the absolute focus in every stage of our work and nowhere is this more important than in manufacturing.”
Earlier this year Tenesol became the only PV manufacturer in France to achieve the triple certification of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
