Under new ministerial responsibilities announced at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), Chris Huhne becomes the new Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change with responsibilities including DECC strategy and budgets, energy market reform, carbon price and energy security.
Greg Barker is the new Minister of State for Climate Change, with responsibilities including climate change, energy efficiency (including public sector energy efficiency), climate change agreements, the Green Investment Bank, the carbon reduction commitment, Green ISAs, and decentralised energy and small scale renewables.
New Minister of State for Energy is Charles Hendry, whose wide-ranging responsibilities include security of supply, renewable energy, CCS and coal policy, smart meters, planning reform and consents, nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation, the Energy Council, offshore environment and decomissioning, grid policy and the Coal Authority.
Lord Marland becomes Under Secretary of State at the department.
