Large wind turbine maintenance and refurbishment specialist Skyrota LGC has been named Small Company of the Year for its 'impressive vision and originality' by the Aer Lingus Viscount Awards, in association with Ulster Television and Business Eye Magazine.
"This award acknowledges LGC's position as a unique and promising leader in the growing wind energy market," said Richard Hogg, Managing Director of LGC, which has its operations based in Northern Ireland.
Aer Lingus Viscount Awards aim to celebrate the close business relationships developed between Northern Ireland and Great Britain over the last 60 years by recognising the contributions of new and established Northern Ireland-based companies.
With its executive offices in Vancouver, Canada, LGC Skyrota Wind Energy Corp. specialises in the development and maintenance of clean-energy producing wind turbines. The company operates two business divisions, LGC in Londonderry, which rebuilds gearboxes for large wind turbines, and Skyrota, which manufactures a 5kW small vertical-axis wind turbine.
